Thanks to Outlook Plugin you will be able to synchronize your contacts, calendar, tasks and notes from Outlook with Synkia account and your mobile phone. Windows Mobile Plugin allows to synchronize Windows Mobile devices with Synkia.

The link to Windows Mobile Plugin is sent in SMS during phone configuration process.

Plaxo will strongly urge its users to backup data on their phones with Synkia and Synkia will advertise Plaxo to its users.

SYNKIA, the Norwegian online personal data management service, that has been offered globally to clients since July 2006, is the first and only synchronization service, that offers fully sms backup as a part of SyncML protocol. It was possible thanks to a partnership with a Swiss software company called Synthesis AG , a provider of SyncML client for Windows Mobile and Palm OS devices. Currently our service supports 332 mobile devices.

SYNKIA today announced the beta-launch of a new version of its online service that lets people backup, manage and restore their mobile’s data. With this new version Synkia introduced a new web application for data management and calendar synchronization.

Synkia service is a unique client/server solution that enables transfer of information between mobile devices and a centralized server. Operation is performed wirelessly over GPRS, EDGE, UMTS or WLAN networks using applications embedded in the phone at the factory. No cables, downloads or additional software are required. Communication is based on the standardized SyncML protocol which is actively developed by the Open Mobile Alliance. Thus Synkia works with all phones that have SyncML support – currently more than 200 models on the market (including non-expensive "mainstream" models).
