We use SSL 256-bit encryption technology to protect your data. First of all it is used on our website and web-application to prevent unauthorized access to your data transferred to a browser.
But it is not all that we offer - as the first company, we use SSL for encrypting SyncML transmission between Your phone and our server. This way your data is protected in all cases when it is transmitted in internet.
To use SSL in synchronization process you need to:
1. Check if your phone supports SSL protocol.

HINT: If your phone is not on the list, simply try to open www.synkia.com via your phone browser. If you succeeded, it means that your phone supports SSL and you can use it for synchronization. If not - don't worry! Try next HINT below.
2. Set up your phone.
- manually:
You need to change host address from "http://" to "https://" in your Synkia synchronization profile (go to Sync, then edit connection settings). Then start synchronization. Answer YES if your phone asks about installing SSL certificate - protected synchronization will start.
HINT: It is possible that your phone (like i.e. Nokia E60) cannot automatically install SSL certificate - in that case you need to download it from: http://www.synkia.com/synkia.cer by typing this address in your phone browser and then install it.
- automatically:
You need to log in your Synkia account, then go to "Phone" section. If your phone supports automatic setup and SSL, you will see "Send SSL settings" button. By clicking it you will receive two kinds of SMS - one with direct link to SSL certificate which needs to be installed in your phone and the second with SSL synchronization settings.
To protect your data we use standard 256-bit encryption technology. Synkia is the first company to offer you SSL protection during the synchronization process between your phone and our server!
iPhone at Synkia! We are happy to inform that Synkia now supports iPhones! From today also iPhone users can secure their datawith Synkia service. SyncML client software for iPhone is provided by Synthesis and can be downloaded for free from the iTunes AppStore. Check the list of all phones supported by Synkia. There are 420 devices!
